The above programs are for converting an MPEG1 (VCD) and MPEG2 (SVCD-DVD-HDTV) video file to AVI. If converting a dvd to AVI, remember it must first be ripped in the correct manner using a good recent dvd ripper of your choice. DVDFab Decrypter and RipIt4Me are two good recommendations, both are also free, links available in 'RIPPING' section.
